Flashing check engine light due to misfire bad enough to damage catalytic converter. Toyotas also set abs/ traction control light …on …disabling traction / abs control .
Usually will not go into " limp "mode .
I suspect low power is due to 100%misfire .
It will be fine .
From the tensioner itself. It is a hydraulic ( oil) tensioner . Usually, on a honda, when enough oil leaks out, the timing belt will make a banging noise .
Even if brakes are simple , they can be a liability issue …and explain for certain situations you don’t have proper tools required.

As I prior tech for 40 … 2 cents here …seems to me newer thermostats are fail safe …over heat once and then slightly stays open …I haven’t seen stuck closed in seems like 10 years .
Looks good too me …
For peace of mind, take it to the dealership to get an oil leak checked.
