D-link - Tp-link - Trendnet - Netgear - Linksys. Never noticed any difference in lifetime or throughput performance. Pick one - any one.

You didn’t say if your wifi is 2.4 or 5 GHz or both or if the computer has only 1 flavor or both. check to see if both are on same band. Also possible that wifi from router or on the computer is sketchy even though it is new. I have an external adapter that I plug in whenever I’m trying to troubleshoot something like this. Helps to narrow down possibilities. Think it was less than $20 on amazon. Good luck.
