A bit sad to be back home in the West Island today after a couple of weeks in the South Island visiting the olds.

Might be the only way to save them considering the clearing of their native habitat.
I am very much on the side that is calling for a review of the arbitrary quota system.
4WD enthusiasts and damaging the environment… Name a more iconic duo.
Is our climate going to be attractive at that point?
Between heat waves and fires I would guess we will be a fairly unpleasant environment also.
The YouTube music algorithm is a pile of shit. It always wants to lead you to more well known stuff. It’s like you are only ever as few related tracks away from top 50 pop.
That sounds better than an xlookup.
”And she doesn’t want the population of Perth to all of a suddenly wake up and find that there’s a shortage of firewood in the middle of next winter."
I think a shortage of firewood would be a good thing for Perth’s urban air quality. Burning wood and polluting your neighbourhood is a complete dick move. Time to install some split systems. Exception if you live somewhere rural where it won’t bother anyone else.
Hopefully the more trees part eventuates. Areas of paving and no shade are awful to be in during summer.
Would really like CBDs to adopt low emissions zones as a way to discourage unnecessary vehicle usage in them. Nobody needs to drive a Landcruiser in to the city for their desk job.
IMO We need to lift the quality of construction and waste management.
My workplace office building has bait stations all over the place because the doors are so poorly sealed that rodents can get in. Rubbish is left in a stinking open skip in the basement.
tries to commodify a counterfactual — a thing that hasn’t happened
Reminds me of the cultural burning program where allegedly burning higher swathes of the country deliberately in a “cool” fire will somehow prevent further carbon release in an uncontrolled fire.
Both are just ways to side step making actual impacts to carbon emissions.
I really like this. I’m sure politicians are at least a decade away from considering it though.
It should not be viable for office workers to drive their V8 turbo diesel ice cap melter in to the CBD each day. Would need a sizeable levee to make an impact to that behaviour.
I have one of those keyboards too. The track pad on it is way better than others I have tried.
For controlling kodi though I mostly use Kore from a phone.
Burning plastic in the suburbs. How does that not result in lower air quality?
Behold the liberal party base.
"The Greens political party are not interested in solving the problem at all…
Albanese was taking a jab at the Greens for making memes on social media about housing affordability in Australia.
That’s some next level projection there. Labor’s policies first and foremost seek to ensure housing continues to rise. They want to give the appearance of doing something to the media, while having no real impact.
I muted mine years ago after it wouldn’t stop referring to roads by numbering systems instead of the actual names on the signs.
Yes sure did. Was shorts and t shirt weather when we walked a bit of the Heaphy track. Although was a bit wet driving from Karamea back to Christchurch on Thursday.
