The Ford 4.6 V8 of this era is known for this. Truthfully, I’ve been a mechanic a good while and I try to stay away from doing this type of work because it either work and you’re great. Or it doesn’t work correctly like now and it’s going to turn into a huge mess. It sucks but I would take it to a shop or dealer that specializes in this repair and hope for the best that the bill isn’t that huge.

A real mechanic will not load the parts cannon and shoot new parts into a vehicle and hope for the best. You need to get a proper diagnosis. Throwing parts and hoping for the best is not the answer.

Turn the key to auxiliary, count to ten or until the fuel pump humming stops. Turn off and remove key. Repeat this five times. Then start the vehicle. That’s my usual priming procedure.
