  • Any old Yote you can get your hands on will last years when well-maintained, but the hard part is finding one that somebody babied for the last 10+ years for a good price. I got lucky on my Avalon, which is not a sports car by any means, but it handles great, the V6 is amazing, and as it’s coupled with VVTI, it’s not a gas guzzler like my Tundra.

Just find a style or two that you like, go test drive a few cars, and see which ones you enjoy driving the most. For some, it’s a pickup, for others it’s a roadster. Just see which models you like, and then find the one you can’t pass up. Took me 3 months of searching the interwebs to find mine, so it’s best to just relax and wait for the perfect one.

  • Idiot-proofing so people don’t run it out of gas. It’s essentially your emergency store of fuel, just to get you to the gas station before you run out and hurt the car.

Running it until empty is fine on a lawnmower, but a complex modern vehicle is a different matter. Shit goes south REAL fast if there’s none of that vital explodey juice flowing around where it’s supposed to be, and it racks up a damn good paycheck for whatever mechanic it’ll be dragged to.
