  • Are you serious? In no way I would stick any alibaba crap on my car. Especially critical parts such as the steering wheel and airbag. If you want an AMG steering wheel go to MB or go to a qualified saddler for them to stitch you a new one.

Again, DO NOT buy stuff like this from alibaba, it’s shit quality. It will be the cause of an accident. Or you dying in the accidental discharge of the airbag with shrapnel in it.

  • Obviously you have some car knowledge and know about your car, but are you sure that you want to save the ~100€ and not go to a qualified shop with the right dipstick and let them refill it to the correct height?

I’d be furious if at some point I drove with a little bit of oil always and destroyed my transmission.

I would either try to get the correct MB Dipstick or pay the money.

Also do you have a MB Star Diagnosis? If not how are you going to check the correct oil level? You have to get the transmission to do a special venting routine with the correct temperatures before checking the oil level…

  • Okay, then I didn’t understand your post. You clearly wrote, that your DPF is causing you problems and while you’re at it you’d go for a remap. And now the only thing that concerns you is that you want more power?

I think almost every qualified tuner (on a dyno) is able to produce around 180hp with the C200 CDI engine (with or without, doesn’t matter, will only result in more or less stress on the engine components).

I think you should at first decide for yourself, whether you want a repaired or Dpf deleted running car or a tuned maybe not running car.

  • I don’t know how strict the emissions control is in your country, but as you said, you’d need someone to take care of the “inspection”. You should consider that if you want to sell the car at some point you may run into problems and if you do not tell the next owner of your work it might lead to fraud accusations.

As a general rule of thumb, the newer the car, the more reliant it is on the equipped emission systems to pass emissions testing.

Also, if you plan to do it, don’t drill or destroy the DPF, they are still very expensive even if clogged. Let someone “qualified” cut out the DPF and weld in a pipe. If you run into problems later on with Inspection/Sale of the car, you can send it somewhere to get it cleaned professionally and put it back into the car. Sure, that all might be more expensive, but trust me it’s worth it.

Generally this procedure should not damage the engine IF THE REMAP IS OF GOOD QUALITY AND YOU DO NOT TRY TO SQUEEZE EVERY LAST BIT OF POWER OUT OF THE ENGINE!
