Mar 21, 2024 - MM24 11th Match-Up: Stirling vs. SBS
- Brush: Chisel & Hound Gulf 26mm Maggard Premium Boar Boar Knot
- Razor: EldrormR Industries MM24 #MMarch24
- Blade: Personna GEM PTFE [21]
- Lather: Summer Break Soaps - Rope Swing - Soap
- Post Shave: Noble Otter - Rawr - Aftershave
This morning was the first warmish morning we’ve had this year, but the cool blast from Rope Swing was still premature. The scent of Rope Swing though is always welcomed. Rawr continued the dandelion note through, along with it’s bright citrus punch.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Happy to support Summer Break Soaps today. I’m a big fan of Valedictorian. I buy coffee and bar soap from Stirling. Apparently, they sell shaving products too! I suspect I’ll be using some of those later this month ;-)
Yup, Stirling is here to stay for now.
Valedictorian++;
I’m enjoying this March Madness soap tournament. We parallel the college basketball tournament that shares the name by publicizing the draw and the seed rankings within that draw. I’ve been wondering about a couple of things:
- Do you think the outcome on a particular day is influenced by knowing the seed of the soap they are using, and subconsciously trying to pick a winner?
- What is the variation in participation day-to-day? I imagine some people participate only on days where they own soaps from both manufacturers and can “vote” for their choice, whereas others participate if they own one of the soaps and can “vote” regardless of what the other is.
I’m definitely consciously trying to pick a winner 😅 Not sure about others, but I’d be surprised if I’m alone.
What is the variation in participation day-to-day?
Good question. I’ll ask the DjSIA when Djunior’s asleep.
I’m definitely consciously trying to pick a winner
Except for me, I think most people are. I’m wondering how the seed value affects peoples choices and whether there would be different results if matchups were posted without ranking and in a way that ranking could not be inferred from position within the draw (tennis term).
Welp, I passed out with Djunior yesterday, and today I’m also super tired. I’ll give it another try tomorrow. 😅
No worries! Enjoy the weekend with your family. That’s far more important!

I can’t help but feel like I betrayed Stirling, but at the last minute I went with Woodshop and had a great shave.
I can’t help but feel like I betrayed Stirling
Most of these elite eight decisions make me feel like I should apologise , too😅

Tough one again. Summer Break Soaps is great, Stirling is great. No right choices here. In the end, I just feel more of a connection to Stirling than Summer Break Soaps. If that’s not a questionable parasocial relationship, I don’t know what is. I’m now going to examine my life choices while smelling great 😅
