It’s frusrating to hear that this is such a problem. I’m not sure how to solve it, as it seems to be that there are a lot of people that just don’t care. It’s easy to call for “more education” but that’s not a solution when people refuse to engage.

    I want to reply but “can’t even”. I have a friend in an eco-conscious community and they pool their resources to pay someone to check the bins, tidy up, mow the communal bin area etc. The emails that this guy sends about the recycling bins are hilariously bad, all the while going on about how this is an environmentally focused development. They chose not to green bin because they felt it wasn’t necessary but food waste ends up in recycling bins on the regular.

    Someone was also throwing piss jugs into the recycling bins, out in the bush. “Way of the road”.
