I went into the dealership for the 40k mile service which involved some fluid changes, tire rotation and brake wear test. I walked out of there $1300 poorer, after they nickel and dimed me for a bunch of other things that came up during the inspection. I even turned down some of the “suggested services.” I won’t be going back there again. Anyone else get this treatment?

I worked at a dealership that did this, if you came in for a 60k service they would automatically recommend “additional service recommendations” like efi injector service, alignment, ac refresh service, etc. Would be good for us, makes for an easy 6 or so hours, depending on the car. But honestly, a lot of it was fluff. Only additional recommendations I agreed with were the 60k transmission service and the differential service, both are important fluid services that people forget. I now work at a Lexus dealership and it is strictly by the book for recommendations, no fluff.
