I hear a lot about the various EVs on the market and their drivetrain/software/ride quality but I rarely hear about the quality of service that comes post-purchase. Perhaps because it’s not an exciting topic.

Which brand would y’all say has the best or worst reputation in the regard? How would you say Chevy compares to Tesla or Hyundai?

Came here to say screw VW. Good luck ID4 drivers. Luckily there are less moving parts than ICEs. I had the joy of dealing with the timing chain tensioners on a VW ICE… known, document, engineering problem they did not proactively replace and instead let tens of thousands of vehicles prematurely drive around with an engine that was playing roulette every day. On top of that, higher maintenance costs, had to explain to them what they needed to do, and more maintenance needs than any car I’ve had since (sensors, trans, timing chain, more frequent intervals, yuck). They can suck my greenwashed dieselgate.

To your question, would agree with other posters. Tesla not the highest reliability ratings but hard to beat the service. The advantage with them is they know EVs better as well, VS other manufacturers where it’s at best an ancillary part of their biz.

OMG the nightmare I had with VW in Toronto over an airbag light in a brand new car. It lasted the whole 4 years of the lease with chapters and acts and dumping it at the dealers so many times while I was away only to come back and that stupid fucking light would light up 250m-4km from the dealers. I love(d) VW cars but that shit drove me crazy.
