The “Musk is a loony and Tesla does some shady shit” tax is definitely a thing.

A lot of folks would gladly pay a few thousand extra to have a car made by someone other than Tesla.

I got no beef with Tesla, its the shitty drivers of Teslas that I have beef with. They’re some dumbass motherfuckers. Speeding, no turn signals, tailgating, hogging charging stalls and not plugging in. Worst humans on the planet.

I’d gladly pay a lot more for anything that’s not from Stellantis.

Not only is the company only a fair-weather EV manufacturer, but they’re also responsible for some of the worst vehicles on the road today. The 500e may be right for some people, and I don’t hold it against anyone who likes the 500e. But for me, it’s a hard pass.

Yeah, my understanding of Fiats in general is that they’re unreliable death traps. Therefore, I see a lot of them for sale on the shady car lots here.

Higher MSRP than the Bolt, unknown range, no tax credit, foreign parts and probably no one local to work on them, and Fiat reputation. Very hard pass.

Welp, Bosch pretty much made the '13 - '19 Fiat and not Fiat/Chrysler so they were great little e-rockets.

The actual Fiat cars made by Fiat, that’s a hard pass.

I had a 2013 500e and my neighbor had the ‘regular’ 500 it was Night and Day difference in quality, fit, finish, reliability. (I drove it for a month after he moved and waited for me to bring it to CarFax? to sell)

The Mrs. would love a new (up to) 199 range? Fiat 500e and the Cabrio would be the cherry on top for her.

Even for those folks, the Volvo EX30 is coming and has >2x the range of this Fiat for only a few thousand more. I’m glad we have more options, and this will surely appeal to folks who want a small fun car, but it’s not going to sell big volume or compete with anything currently on the market.

I’m one of them! A car is a big commitment for me. I’m not gonna roll the dice on a company that may or may not be able to back their product a year from now because of the antics of their CEO.

An insane corporate leadership is especially concerning because of automatic over-the-air updates and Apple-style repair exclusivity.

If Toyota goes insane tomorrow, my car will still drive just like it did before, and the mechanic down the street can fix it. Not so with Tesla, and the risk of them going insane is quite a bit higher.

I’m in an Ioniq 6 because I wouldn’t be caught dead in one of Elongated Muskrat’s cars

Ioniq 6 was mostly out of consideration when I was buying because it wasn’t out yet, but coincidentally Hyundai was also caught employing child labor in the U.S. around the same time.

Apparently this comment earned me my first “Reddit Cares” message, so thanks I guess?

Also, what do you think about the Ioniq 6? Looks like a great car but seems fancier than what I want.

That’s a very small number of people, and most of them post on Reddit which means they are not representative of the population at large.
