4Runner and Tacoma are both known to be reliable but they are made in different countries and Tacoma has a smaller displacement engine.

From the catalytic converter, engine, transmission, to the power-train control module, which vehicles are you less likely to have it end up at the shop for random breakdown, check engine lights, and leaking fluid?

This might be good for someone who has owned both. Thanks!

    We currently own a 5th gen 4Runner and a 2nd gen Tacoma. The fit & finish on the 4R is considerably better than the Taco, and I’m certain it would be more reliable over its life. That said, the Tacoma has almost 200k miles on it and doesn’t drink a drop of oil or coolant, so both easily exceed many/most other trucks sold today.
