4Runner and Tacoma are both known to be reliable but they are made in different countries and Tacoma has a smaller displacement engine.
From the catalytic converter, engine, transmission, to the power-train control module, which vehicles are you less likely to have it end up at the shop for random breakdown, check engine lights, and leaking fluid?

I think it is rather strange that people in this sub seem to be fixating on the difference between 1 failure in 1000 and 2 failures in 1000, there is no significant difference in daily use, why the obsession with “reliability” to this degree? And what is one or two sample going to give you?
