Hello all,
I am looking to purchase a used Camry. I currently drive about 300 miles a week to get to and from work ( my work is 30 miles away one way from where I live). And also take a few road trips each year ( 3-5 hour trips one way).
Would a a Toyota Camry from year 2017-2021 with 40,000-70,000 miles be able to handle something like this? Along with other daily driving (like local driving around town, grocery store,etc.).
Would anyone have any recommendation on the year and mileage of the Camry I should look into to get the best value?
What mileage would I need to begin replacing parts?
You’re looking at around 20,000 miles a year of driving depending on the road trips it could maybe even be 25k. I would say if ur able to get a brand new hybrid it will accommodate your driving mileage and with the proper maintenance there’s some Toyota Hybrids that have hit 400k. Gas models can do that same but of course less fuel economy. Car could last you for up to 8-10 years with the perfect on time maintenance
I have a 2006 Camry with 265k miles on it, so I would say you have at least another good 150k+ miles left on that car assuming it’s in good shape.
is your car a v6 or 4 cyl?
4cyl
The Camry is like the Corolla; you’ll probably need to upgrade before the car just dies.
There’s stories out there with people with 200K+ miles on Corollas and Camrys and not having to replace any major parts other than stuff that normally breaks down (brakes, tires, shocks, struts, etc. in addition to normal maintenance). I’ve only had to replace the alternator on my Corolla and outside of little things I’ve gotten 150K miles out of mine and 13 years of almost trouble-free ownership.
That Camry is going to last you for a while.
Yup drove 2011 Camry 230k miles just oil change, brakes, tires, belts, spark plugs, and one alternator.
You can get a lot of miles out of them. Make sure to change the oil every 5-10k miles max, a full fluid change at 100,000 miles would be good too.
Maintenance is key, you cant neglect your car if you want it to hit 200K
You new here? If your up on maintenance, it will last for a long time (easily 200k more). There are no issues on this generation that is known.
