People Who Drive on Eco Pro Mode, How Much Savings Do You See?

Been using it lately and notice the car gets significantly slower which sucks but wondering if people who have used it long term see considerable savings.

I did a whole tank in eco and I gained 16 miles according to the thing, so around half a gallon, not worth it to save less than $2

Yeah I had a sneaking suspicion the gains over comfort mode were minimal. Maybe if you live in an area with a ton of hills the coasting feature of eco pro would be better utilized.

I think the win is not only in those 16 miles or $2, but once in eco mode you are actively driving more economically. In other words, you could achieve the same in comfort mode, apart from the coasting.

Agree, it can double the MPG I get.

Not that I always use it from that to end of a drive, but that’s the potential if I were to.

Double? No way it’s doubling mpg unless you’re comparing race track MPG to eco highway MPG. My 335i averages 24 in mixed driving in comfort. No way eco could get me 48mpg.

I’ve gotten it as high as 74mi while managing 35mpg on a road trip, so about 2 gallons. Still not really worth it.

Not worth it to you. But imagine a whole planet using it on a regular.

Yeah so we can all be gridlocked in traffic because no one accelerates for lane switches, merges, pull outs and stop lights

There are indeed smaller, less powerful, and therefore more gas efficient, engines than those from BMW.

But overall BMWs are pretty good when it comes to gas usage per “engine size”.
