I have been looking for affordable tires for nearly 2 months. Mostly for take-offs or something barely used. I found a guy on Marketplace with some “Starfire” tires. 31x10.50r15 for $275. He said they have maybe 500 miles on them and he bought them in 2021.

I headed over today and exchanged the cash and tires. I got them in the car and noticed they were dated 0207. All of them. I went back and explained they are older than what he told me. Then he said he bought them used in 2021. I said I misunderstood him then and that I wouldn’t want to purchase them because they’re so old. He said that they’re fine and they’re good tires and he was getting a bit aggressive so I just left with the tires.

I’m pretty upset and don’t know what I can even do with them at this point. I don’t feel safe with them on and doubt anyone will even mount them. Any advice?

That sucks. When it comes to tyres, definitely need to see pictures of the date before making an effort to view them/pick them up. I think it’s good that you were one of the few who would actually have the sense to check the date. Someone else might not have known and may have lead to a pretty bad accident some time down the line. Still it sucks.
