Hey Guys, when shopping for tires, I see 50k, 65k, 80k, etc., warranty on the tires. My Infiniti Qx60 is barely at 50k, but I’m sure I’ve replaced tires twice already. They say check your threads with a penny, and if it’s worn, time to replace. I do my replacements without even thinking about these warranties. I’m not missing out on anything, am I? It just seems too good to be true if your tires are worn before the guarantee number, and you simply get a free replacement? It doesn’t work that way, does it? So I never bothered to hassle the manufacture or the tire company. I just pay for my new tires and leave.
Can anyone shed light on what these warranties really do for you? Thank you.
They don’t do much. Maybe major manufacturer defect but you’re not going to get new tires because of it. They are mostly s meaningless number. Also rarely ever worth the hassle
Just use Discount Tire. They keep next to zero records. I live on a SHIT TERRIBLE dirt road. I told them that up front. They just keep replacing tires for $22 warranty extension.
You often have to maintain wheel alignments and rotations that will probably add up to being more than the cost of tyres over the lifespan
Yes, I get them and found them valuable. I get nails in my tires because of all the construction going on where I drive. My tires get plugged for free if they can be plugged or I get a prorated replacement if they can’t be plugged. I pay around $25 per tire for the insurance.
If you never get flats, it’s not worth it.
