I have a 2017 Subaru Forester. I was at the parking lot waiting for the wife and had the car on and idling. It’s cold out so the heater was on too. I started noticing what I think was gas (could be oil maybe?). I turned the car off and rolled down the window a bit. Then started it and started driving. I felt like the smell was not so bad. What could be going on and what did I do?
When you get back home after a drive and the engine is fully warmed up, open the hood and look for traces of white smoke/steam. That’s a sign that oil is burning off the exhaust.
I just checked, I didn’t notice anything. Could it be something else?
