400 mile range, *10,000 lb pulling capacity and not a bad looking machine.

Too rich for my blood. Of course, there are a lot of trucks that fit that description. Don’t need 4 doors, and I used my ICE truck bed for the intended purpose (2000 Ranger.) Would really like a two door, bench seat, long bed. Doesn’t have to pull 10,000 lbs. or have 400 mile range for my use case. So really, half that truck for half the price would work well for me.

totally agree with you, I don’t tow, don’t do off-road, I just need to carry my surf stuff to the beach. Few days ago got ranger 2011 and can not be happier. Perfect size for me. aevent 150 is too big. Ford need to make an electric Ranger, simple, small and cheap.

No official announcement from Ford yet but rumors continue to swirl that in 2025 there will be either a Ranger Lightning or Maverick Lightning. Internal codename for it is Project T3, if you Google “Ford Project T3” there is an awful lot of stuff out there, I’m sure at least half of which is already out of date or wrong.

I don’t have any delusions that we’re going to see a proper body on frame EV truck the size of your old Ranger or my first gen Frontier, but if Nissan could put their ePower series hybrid system in a new Frontier with a 30-50kWh pack I could see myself buying one.

How much is it and when will it really be made? I think it makes sense til it has the Tesla port.

I had it preordered, but the price points vs what was advertised makes it a no deal for me. Saving my reservation in case something changes though.

If I can hold onto my reservation and wait for the $55k version, and it’s specs are better that whatever else is available at that price point, then I’ll go for it. I feel like they are going to only build the $80k+ version for a couple of years as they don’t seem to be able to build these things in any sort of volume.

Same. I’m waiting for the price offered to me when my reservation is met, but it sounds like my base model price won’t be met for a very very long time, if ever - in which case I’d cancel it

Had a reservation, but canceled it after it became clear they were going to be too expensive for the consumer version. Decided to buy a F150 Lightning instead since Ford both lowered the price and gave $7500 discounts. When combined with Fed and state tax credits, the Lightning is currently the best deal in pickups, EV or ICE.

Nope, no Apple CarPlay makes it easy for me to write off GM in its entirety for the next few years. Maybe if other manufacturers follow suit I’ll reconsider but until then, well, you gotta find SOME way to weed out companies while researching your next car

I am definitely going to test drive one, but not til year 3 of production. Give the early adopters time to find the faults for me.

That cab to box pass through and a canopy might make a nice trades van replacement. I absolutely need the range and the electric vans so far have been pathetic.

I have a reservation but lost interest in it because,

    1. it’s too big
    2. I don’t actually need a truck
    3. it’s too expensive

I reserved it because it was only $100. At the time it was released the specs (dimensions) we’re not out yet. I was hoping it would be smaller. The midgate is awesome tho.

I could use it a few times a year to haul wagons, header carts, and pallets of seed around but that would basically be a novelty toy for me at that point. We already have a truck for that. https://i.imgur.com/WpyjW9n.png

For other scenarios it’s cheaper for me to just rent a truck or utility van.

The specs are so misleading. Every single one of them on the web page you posted has an asterisk.

The worst is the bed length. “Up to 5ft 11in” - The associated image shows an item diagonally. So, it will fit a 5ft 11in" small diameter pipe diagonally.

From the dawn of time, a pickup truck bed length has been measured front to back, not diagonally!
