I have a fuel leak on an older 90s fuel injected car. Fuel is starting to drip fast enough that my garage is smells like fuel and I’m worried about fire risk. What can I do in the meantime to mitigate risks? I cracked the garage by about half a foot for ventilation. I tried tightening the fittings to no avail, appears to have made it even worse. Anything else I should do to clean up or soak up the fuel? I presume once the fuel rail empties nothing else will be leaking.
In no specific order, you could:
Park it outside, away from structures.
Dump pressure when parking — can’t leak if there’s no pressure in the line.
Order and install or have new fittings made.
Mitigation of risk and repair are the way.
