I have a 2013 mustang v6. The previous owner added a roush exhaust and it makes the car very loud. Short of putting a stock exhaust back on (which I presume is expensive), are there any ways to make the car quieter?

If you are lucky, the roush setup is muffler only. GT and V6 mufflers clamp on with minimal tools and effort. I had a GT muffler on my 05v6 for 15 years with no problems. It will be easier and cheaper to fix the exhaust over adding sound deadening to the chassis.
How can I tell the difference?
The GT muffler has a shiny tip.
If you switch back to stock exhaust, you might even be able to sell off the old set and keep the cost down.
A stock exhaust may be cheap on ebay or similar
