Yeah it’s been like this on the E210 generation up by the map lights as you can see. It’s one of those buttons that clicks in or out. When in(the position you see here), interior lights one on with doors, when out they don’t.

Every time you push the button, a door spawns in front of your car. Useful if you’re renovating a home, annoying if you’re sitting in traffic, dangerous if you’re on the highway.
