If changing every 5,000 miles, do you need to spend the extra money on the long life motor oil. Any reason not to just use Mobil 1 or equivalent synthetic oil without the LL 01 or LL 04 specification?

Just changed my oil again last week after 5K miles and used Castrol Edge Euro which exceeds BMW specs, it’s not a lot cheaper than BMW oil, but saved a few bucks
