Car Didn’t Start this morning

2012 Nissan Rogues SE; battery age unknown

I went to go to work this morning and the car didn’t crank; all lights came on as normal. My dad helped me and said he sounded like the engine wasn’t getting fuel at first. We jumped it and after a couple minutes it cranked; went to work (about a 45 minute drive) and it drove fine and I didn’t feel any losses of power or anything noticeable. I have recranked the car a few times now with no problem. AM radio did not make a whine when I revved the engine. Now what’s weird, is I never leave the lights or anything on in my car. Why would the battery die and/or the car not crank? It was high 40s here this morning in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. It just has me really anxious. Sorry if I’m overreacting and being stupid about it. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I agree with the other commenter on a bad battery. It’s revealed itself now that the colder weather is kinda staying. Running your car after jumping the battery is a good thing to, that let’s the alternator charge it back up. That’s why it had no issue starting up after you drove it down the highway for 45 minutes. Should be a relatively cheap and easy fix!

Highly unlikely if you were able to drive it after a boost. If the alternator was undercharging or not charging at all, you’d have a ‘service charge system’ light and or message. And it would have died again shortly after your boost.

Don’t go to a parts store for diagnosis.

Do you have an actual battery / electrical shop in your area?
