IMO RS spyder wheels look great on a 992 Carrera because the emphasis is on the wheels and not (smallish) brake rotors or (ordinary / unspecial) calipers.

Now that PCCB are specable again (hooray only $8900 lol), curious to see what you all think is the best wheel to showcase these stunning brakes on a 992 Carrera. On a bright color 992 might I add.

I heard multiple people regret getting PCCB because of the sqeaking noises they make after a while…

Not. I don’t get any squeak.

I have pccb… they’re great. Low brake dust, good stopping power, look great.

On your wheels… I really like the look of the spyder wheels, but i think cleaning them will be hard. I have the Carrera classic wheels, which have grown on me. They’re easy to clean, and show more brakes.

Just know that braking power not that different. Two things about pccb: better heat management on the track, not so important on the street, and longer wear. Braking power more limited by tires.

PCCB is really only worth it for track use. But everyone is saying that already.

They might be “specc-able” but I’ve seen PCNA remove them from builds because of a shortage, to make sure cars that need them (Turbos, GTs, etc) get them.

Looks like I may be alone based on the comments here but I think PCCBs specced on a Carrera is total badass enthusiast spec. Better brakes are awesome for canyon carving and inspire a ton of confidence to be able to brake late into corners and as hard as possible. As with all things Porsche, do what you like best!

Yo. I was in the same boat at you like 2 years ago when I was specifying my 992 base. I put a question on rennlist just like this. Everyone told me it was a waste of money on a base 992 blah blah. Now after having the car for a year here is my new take

    1. get the PCCB. You can swap the disks for big iron (girodisc) for 4K. Sell the carbon rotors for like 15 k. Now you have a free big brake kit option.
    2. get the PCCB. Get the big iron and keep the carbon disks for when you sell the car. rEsALE oMG
    3. don’t get the PCCB. Go scour the 991.2 turbo parts list and find the correct part numbers to upgrade yourself. Spend 10k to get the parts. You can get the 991.2 mega turbo calipers in black for the super stealthy look (not yellow)
    4. don’t get the PCCB and enjoy the car

I did option 3. I wish I had done option 1. It would have saved me time and money.

Thank you for this! Hope you are enjoying the hell out of your 992! I’m leaning towards option 1 or 2 for sure haha
