You can see it’s pretty significant. 2020 SE. Scraped my driver door and knocked the mirror loose in a tight parking space when backing out. Just ride with it or fix? I’m not sure if it’s worth doing an insurance claim with $1000 deductible. Guessing I would then have insurance rate hikes then too. I’m an idiot and life really hates me lately. Trying not to stress about it. Ugh. TIA.

Replace the mirror yourself. (quick YT video or google)

Leave the rest of the damage alone. To constantly remind yourself, to learn how to fckn drive.

Or you could place one of those funny large band aid stickers.

Fixing the mirror might be a bit involved. If you are handy, I think you could fix it pretty cheap. Otherwise I’d take it to a shop you trust and get an idea of cost. If the cost outweighs your deductible, I’d go to your insurance company

Cheaper to do it yourself, if u make a claim on insurance, your rate will go up!!!

Ask several collision repair centers and proceed forward with the best price/quality work

Mirror on eBay is like 80 bucks on eBay, it’s 1 trim panel needed to be removed and 3 bolts. Color part should pop off and swap over…

I’d go to your local dealer, see if their scratch and dent guy can address the scratches so they are less noticeable.

Painting the whole door shouldn’t be more than 500ish dollars.

So either way, I wouldn’t think you can fix it through insurance

Tough to tell by the picture but that door looks like it may be mostly paint transfer. Buy a can of denatured alcohol and use a microfiber to wipe it down. You may be able to clear up a good deal of that. If you have an auto detailer nearby ask if they can check it out. A machine polisher may make the work of removing the white scuffs easier.

depending on how deep the scratches are, you can easily pick up some scratch remover from an auto store or the auto section, and clean it up, could also go over it with a paint pen if you’re not satisfied after the scratch remover. most of the car is plastic, it’s not worth the $1000 deductible.

If you want it done right take it to a shop to get repaired. Repair the front door and blend the fender for color match, you car no doubt has precollision so that would need to be calibrated once disconnected. This job can easily get over $1500.

Option 1 submit insurance claim and follow suit and pay deductible Option 2 buy a new mirror and install yourself Option 3 ignore it as long as mirror is still mounted properly

Personally I would do the proper repair because it’s a 2020 that you probably plan on keeping for some time. Why have a new car if your not gonna somewhat take care of it.

It doesn’t look that bad. Try getting megiurs scratch fix compound and use some arm muscle and see if it comes off before you try more expensive fix.

I had something similar where I got hit and run and I was able to use megiurs and touch up paint

Right on! Gonna replace the mirror myself. Remove the paint transfer with WD40 quick. Then just live with the small dents, or any ideas for those?

Find a pointless dent repair shop, they should be able to fix it relatively cheap as well (compared to paint&repair)
