Went to get my current car serviced today (2021 CX 5 GT). Inquired about buying it out bc only put 11k miles on it

Got pitched to swap it out (8 months left on lease) for 2024 CX 5. Premium Turbo. 15k miles per year. $549 monthly payment including tax and fees. Nothing down. 36 month lease.

I’m a novice so any feedback on if this is a good deal or not would be much appreciated

I’m inclined to think it is as that’s what I currently pay for current lease though I got it at the height of the surge during Covid.

I’d imagine the only reason to upgrade to that new lease is because of the “shiny new things” factor. Even though there won’t be any real difference between your 21 and the 24. Pretty sure the exterior and interior is the same and you have no miles on your car so I bet a 250 dollar detail would have that thing back to “new” condition. So honestly not sure why you’d not buy it out and keep it

    I’m also a noobie on lease stuff, but I think that’s a good price, for example I lease a cx30 2021 for 368 a month with a down of 3k (this back in 2021).

My lease ends next September if they offer me your price I would sign right away 😅

You should ask for the price on a 33 month lease. They are usually less per month than a 36 month lease and you can keep the car for an additional 6 months beyond the 33 months at the same cost per month, I am doing it this way and it is really more cost effective. My dealer gave me prices on both a 33 and 36 month lease because I asked him to.
