2016 Jeep Renegade sport
I recently ordered a Mopar clutch kit for my Jeep with the friction plate and pressure plate. They machined the flywheel and I paid around $1200 for labor. A few days after the repair was completed, the clutch pedal dropped to the floor.
Do clutch kits typically come with slave cylinders? The kits I have seen online don’t seem to, and it wasn’t mentioned to me at all as a need during the original repair. They said they need to take it apart and check the cylinder now and let me know, so I’m a little worried the labor is going to hit 1200 again.
Any info/advice regarding this situation? Just looking to be informed when we have our follow-up conversation.
No, clutch kits usually don’t come with a new slave. And yes it’s more than likely your slave has gone bad if the pedal has lost pressure. Good thing is that slaves are cheap, bad thing is yours is most likely internal so they’ll have to pull the transmission out again to replace it.
