I got a muffler and resonator delete on my merc a little over a month ago and I’m due for a service A. I don’t have an active warranty and the car has 112k miles, will I get into any trouble for having these modifications? I’m in New York State by the way. Thanks in advance.

Nah. They shouldn’t be concerned with that. They could possibly say something if you’re getting a nys inspection too but probably not.

I believe that the enforcement of the law is based on the cops hearing it, not by shops reporting it.

They don’t care about your exhaust system to do a PM. My exhaust shop in ny wouldn’t do the resonator delete because it’s against the law to modify exhaust systems to make it louder now.

I hate people who do these shitty mods. You’ve made your car a nuisance for everyone that has to hear you drive. Your neighbors must love you. As for your question, no they don’t give a crap, there is no incentive to snitch on you for mods. They will look at things that are relevant and if they aren’t legit they won’t touch them. A service will have nothing to do with these parts so the mods are irrelevant. You should switch back though.
