I have a 2018 GMC Terrain SLE 1.5L I4 Gas DOHC Turbocharged 2WD FWD. The other day the brakes got very stiff and required full force to stop the car while I was in the expressway. When I cut the car off it would not crank up again, it appears the battery is dead. I have a cheap diagnostic tool and it’s Reading the following codes:
P0017 crankshaft position, camshaft position correlation bank 1 P0017 generic sensor B P0556 brake booster pressure sensor circuit range P0700 transmission control system mil request P305E GM
I looked online and from what I saw it’s either the crankshaft sensor, the brake booster, brake vacuum so I purchased all 3. A friend of mine thought it was the exhaust ocv causing the issues so I let him replace that and it didn’t help anything.
As far as it not being able to crank, I had aaa jump it and I let it run for 20 minutes but the second I turn it off and back on again it won’t crank again. These issues all started at the exact same time, but are they related? Should I bother paying someone to replace those 3 parts and waste money or just bring it to the dealership? Any advice would be appreciated.
I’d worry more about your timing codes, seems like engine oil changes have been neglected.
You just need a battery or alternator or both. Also make sure your belt didn’t fall off.
