Anyone every convert to manual brakes?

I have a project car and basically will be replacing the whole system. I was looking at a manual brake setup. Is it comfortable for street and even some road track driving?

Older car doesn’t have abs, just looking at some options.

Yes I know I need a master/caliper/proportioning valve al configured to be compatible.

You think you’re going to reliably and comfortably stop a 3,000 pound, 400 horsepower track car with no assistance? Just your leg strength and whatever leverage you can get from the pedal? I’m no physics major, and I’m not very smart, but this just seems like a very expensive bad idea. Why purposefully make something more unsafe and harder to slow and stop, then add a bunch of power to it?

A well setup non-assisted braking system provides more than enough braking force. It’s actually preferred by racers for its superior feel and modulation.

Really? Thats pretty cool. I say go for it then, I was just concerned about things like stop and go traffic, I couldn’t really imagine it being comfortable. Its probably just my age (or lack thereof) showing lol
