Hello folks,

I am in the market for a manual transmission Mazda for a daily work commuter. On a pretty tight budget of $4k +/-. Looking for a reliable generation or year that will allow me to put some miles on it with regular maintenance. What model and year Mazda would you recommend?

    I’d look at a 2nd gen Mazda3 ('10-'13). You may have to consider a higher mileage one for $4k but if it has been maintained, I’d go for it.

    You’re going to be limited to a high mileage first or second gen Mazda2 or Mazda3. Both reliable cars, but make sure they’ve been well maintained!
