I want to ask the hardcore Porsche guys here a question:

Porsche and 911 in particular are considered the pinnacle of automotive engineering excellence. But is there something you miss from other cars you have owned or driven? Is there a car brand that does something a little better? For e.g. steering feel of a Lotus or transmission shifts of a Ferrari or something like that?

I will leave out the obvious: I know Porsche is not known for luxury of a Rolls Royce/Bentley… So :)

Yeah but looking at the service I get at BMW vs Porsche is a no-brainer. Enough of a difference I won’t get the PHEV X5 and Cayenne e-hybrid is most likely.

A nicely optioned PHEV X5 is around $75k, a Cayenne Hybrid is definitely a nicer vehicle but I can’t justify paying $30k-40k more for it, the service is better but not $40k better IMO. Porsches used to be priced more reasonably but lately they’ve been upping the MSRPs. I had loaner base 4 cylidner Macans that were $80k, it was pretty ridiculous

CPO is the move. add 2 years vs 1 and the option to add another for a couple of grand is the way to go for me. Yeah the vehicle and features and even EV range is more for the money with the BMW, but I wont be swayed. I am not trying to convince you either, maybe justify my choice lol.

This just showed up in my alerts, but for ~$75k a 2 year old car with a $109k sticker is a great deal.

Having a diesel cayenne (CPO got my 8 years, unlimited miles of warranty) has caused me to become great friends with my service advisor at my local Porsche dealership and the experience makes me think the local BMW dealership might as well be a ford or kia dealership.
