I have a semi automatic motorcycle, an underbone. A chinese one specifically and the manual recommends to have it an API SE engine oil. Can I use API SN? I’ve read somewhere that these API SN would be bad for my engine in the long run as there is less zinc or something.

SG will be better than SE (or SF) and should be available pretty easily. Anything newer than that will have reduced ZDDP (zinc) and might cause more wear.

If the oil has other recomendations follow those.
