I want to upgrade my Demio Infotainment System to support Carplay. First step is to update the OS Version. Could anyone direct me as to where I can find the OS Update file? Also if possible, I would like to change it from Japan to EU/UK - I’m in Malta

(this is based on US market which has identical requirements) you are going to need a flash drive (greater than 8gb) and a battery tender/battery jumper to keep the car battery from dying as the update will take min 20mins. You can google where to get the files or otherwise the main mazda website will have it after making an account (which also has the procedures for your car in your market). you are also going to need the hardware for it as well which is new cables and usb hub that needs to be installed after the update which on the Demio/Mazda 2/Toyota iA are a bit of a pain in the butt due to the arm rest being a paint to take apart.

Mazda issued to take down order on all the software updates that were floating around the Internet. The Mazda dealership updated my software for free after I complained about Bluetooth disconnection.

I purchased an aftermarket wireless module, which came with the USB wires to install . all the panels on the Mazda just popped off. It’s very easy to install and will take you less than an hour.
