I have a flat tire and no wheel lock key for my M240i.

The Firestone near me cannot help unless they cut it.

The dealer is over an hour away. I didn’t think to check for this when I bought it.

The dealership hasn’t been super helpful.

I do not have run flats.

Don’t be like me.

Are these locks on all BMWs? I just bought a ‘19 530e with run flats, so do I need the special key?

It’s a dealer installed option but a smart move. Just look at your lug bolts and see if one isn’t a hex head. If you don’t you should probably get a set. Be careful ordering online though bmw has changed bolt sizes and sells a few varieties of these.

All they will do is help cause headaches when you’re in the situation of OP. It’s genuinely more difficult to remove a splined lug without the key than it is to remove one of the dealer supplied security lugs. When we have a vehicle come through at work with security lugs and no security key the only hangup is contacting the customer.

If you can keep track of your keys you can keep track of a wheel lock it’s not rocket science

Did you miss the part that I said about how the only hangup in removing them without the key is contacting the customer?

It takes all of ten seconds to hammer on a thin wall socket and remove the security lug. We actually did it this week with an i4. Aside from calling the customer It only took ten seconds to remove the security lug. It was destructive to the lug but it was quick and easy to bypass it.

It’s a profit center for the dealers and they usually put them on every car unless you ordered it yourself and scolded them ahead of time.
