I mean, the Model Y, now the best selling vehicle of all also only sold a few at its launch event. Nothing is more boring that doing paperwork and deliveries. Wouldn’t be much of a party haha :P
I think at most this is a misunderstanding. That is, they actually hand over 10 units on the night, but deliveries will also take place at the service centers, maybe on Dec 1st if not the same night.
Even if they only deliver 10 this week it would just be a non-story. Start of production always will be slow. It’s true for every company out there and it has been true for Tesla in the past. I don’t remember even Elon ever claiming that they wouldn’t have to ramp up first.
The important question are: 1) What are the actual specs? 2) How many people are going to buy it?
It won’t be 12/01 if they haven’t released specs or pricing yet. For these first 10, they’re certainly curated individuals who have no doubt signed NDAs. If they were ready to release any significant number of vehicles in the near future we’d have leaked pricing info by now
Why not give them all that night? Isn’t that the point of the event? Why wait on some of them if they are ready to deliver?
Oh no! The sky is falling again!!! Hilarious. I hope Tesla succeeds with it just to disappoint the morons who’ve been saying it didn’t exist for years, and are now switching to fabricating constant imaginary drama. Gonna be interesting to see them either grow up and move on, or tie themselves into knots trying to persist the hate - what a weird way to live.
Technically speaking: It indeed didn‘t exist for years.
Technically speaking: it existed in small numbers for years. (i e. prototypes)
What is with the drumbeat of constant negativity in this subreddit?
Hope 1 of the 10 that gets it have a car reviewer review the Cybertruck. I want someone like Doug DeMuro
Doug’a great, but even he has a maximum threshold for how much he’ll bash something. His brand is a business at the end of the day.
Because they only made 10 that weren’t a complete shitshow on build quality.
Why bother?
From this angle, it looks like an ashtray that got pulled out of a Chevy.
I saw one in the wild the other day (near Kennedy Space Center/the Space Force Station assume it was a Space X employee) they’re even more fuckin ugly in person
Thing is hideous.
When I saw one drive by me on the interstate I was struck by how plain and small it looks in person. Like it’s suppose to be special, but it isn’t really. Just looks like a small silver truck inspired by a triangle.
10?
These will probably be hand built as well. All they can do in the time whilst also not making it look like a Meccano kit put together by a 5 year old.
They’ll still be working out how they’re going to mass produce with 10 micron precision.
To get the windows fixed……
They will “deliver” them to advertisement puppets only. Youtubers, tik tok, whatever platform.
Guessing these 10 will get special “launch edition” pricing, so we still won’t know how much it will really cost to the general public.
Not necessarily, but they’ll get special “launch edition non disclosure agreements” to not say anything until Tesla says it first.
I have a Tesla. I love my Tesla. I’m sure the CT will operate great like other Teslas.
I still think it is butt ugly.
Didn’t they only deliver like 25 cars at the Model S Plaid delivery event, too? This seems like a non-story.
Exactly what I need for my future home on Mars. Is that the idea?
