I think at most this is a misunderstanding. That is, they actually hand over 10 units on the night, but deliveries will also take place at the service centers, maybe on Dec 1st if not the same night.
Even if they only deliver 10 this week it would just be a non-story. Start of production always will be slow. It’s true for every company out there and it has been true for Tesla in the past. I don’t remember even Elon ever claiming that they wouldn’t have to ramp up first.
The important question are: 1) What are the actual specs? 2) How many people are going to buy it?
It won’t be 12/01 if they haven’t released specs or pricing yet. For these first 10, they’re certainly curated individuals who have no doubt signed NDAs. If they were ready to release any significant number of vehicles in the near future we’d have leaked pricing info by now

Why not give them all that night? Isn’t that the point of the event? Why wait on some of them if they are ready to deliver?
