I leased a new 2024 CX-90 PHEV couple of months ago. Now, the salesman who sold me the car is calling me and asking me for a copy of registration of any Mazda vehicle from the same household. He is saying that they applied Mazda loyalty rebate on the deal and Mazda might do a charge back if I don’t provide it.

Now, I looked thru the deal sheet and all the numbers and nowhere it says there was a loyalty rebate applied. It was a pretty straight deal with no trade ins and such. Now my question is can Mazda actually do a charge back? I financed thru Mazda financial and on the deal;sheet and on website; nowhere does it says any kind of additional incentive or rebate were applied.

That’s wild! I would say Mazda can charge the dealership for sure but you signed a contract and if it doesn’t appear on your contract its not your responsibility.

On other posts in this sub about people who have loans through mazda financial. Everyone talks about how they should always call mazda directly for financials and not the dealer. The dealer is there to sell you the car and make money.

I dont know anything about the situation other than this post but It does sound sketchy like the dealer messed up and is trying to get you to pay for it.

Shit, maybe they are getting the loyalty discount and pocketing the money lol

I think you are right. They probably added the rebate to bring down price a little now realized they messed up. Anyways; my monthly and lease payments are set so its not like they can change anything. They will probably have to eat the cost

The Loyalty Rebate would put you at $8,000 in rebates instead of $7,500 with just the EV credit.

Edit: NVM it wasn’t a lease. If you see $500 rebate then yea, you have to provide the dealership with the registration of the Mazda vehicle in your household to qualify.
