Oh thank goodness, another luxury EV SUV. Thank you so much GM. I was just saying the other day how it’s so hard to find a $55,000 electric SUV and we need more of them to come out in 2 years.

Bonus points if it releases 18 months late and has $10,000 dealer markups.

I really think GM is rolling these out too quickly. Maybe they should work on perfecting a few to start with before making multiple luxury models that only appeal to a minority.

This is where Ford did better, both their EVs appeal to a broader market and they aren’t giving more options until they get a few model years under their belt.

The Optiq appears to be slightly larger than the new Volvo EX30 EV crossover, which carries a bargain-basement starting point in the US around $35,000. It would be surprising to see the Optiq priced that low.

I mean, obviously. It seems to be based off of the XT4 which starts at $37k. So it is definitely not going to start at around $35k. $45k at a minimum given the standard upping for EVs.

Like the 70,000 Bolt EV/EUVs GM will sell in North America alone this year? Or do you mean the MILLION affordable Wuling Mini EVs they’ve already made and sold globally so far?

Only problem with the Bolt is GM keeps threatening to kill it. Also I dont know what it is with GMs inventory system but they seem to have a glut of Bolts in some markets and two year waiting lists in others.

I like this vehicle and I’m sure it’s nice, but GM really has to focus on settling out the issues with their current EVs. Production issues with the Blazers, and all the electrical issues that are occurring with the new Lyriq. The products themselves are good it’s just the execution that’s bad

After waiting 2 years for my Silverado EV RST, I now have had my Ford F150 Lightning Platinum in my carport for a month already…doubt if I’ll get a call on the Silverado reservation for another two years or so — so my guess is: 2026 or later
