Recently converted my 84’ FXSB to kick only. My question is: can I get away with running a smaller (and cheaper) battery? Since the starter is gone and it’s just my ignition coil and headlight, will any 12V battery work?
Put a magneto on it and lose the battery entirely!
I know a lot of things will work but the one thing I know for sure is when you buy cheap you get cheap. I love my baby to much.
Fair enough. I’m not necessarily looking for a “cheap” battery, but even a quality battery with a lower amperage will be less expensive. Which is helpful.
Get a $30k solid gold and platinum battery. Thats the bare minimum id ever run in my opinion.
Anti gravity makes really small batteries with loads of power. I run one on my ironhead and it’s fantastic
I run a morris and kept the battery, I bought the cheapest, smallest 12v at walmart, and it’s like 5”x4”x3”, I think $25-$30 and just made a tray. Works great and has been pretty helpful in the garage when the power goes out, haha
