Hey all,
So I just sold my hellcat and have decided to get into my first ever foreign 😁. I’ve owned all American muscle over the years so I figure it’s time.
Anyways, I will be placing a custom order on a M3 Comp XDrive. For those that have ordered cars, did any dealerships try to markup prices once the vehicle arrived? Or they held true to the sticker price you built it for?
Thanks in advance
I would say if a dealer has other vehicles on the lot with markups, that’s a good indication of them doing shady things.
You should be able to get a Deal Sheet or Bill of Sale when you negotiate which should lock you in. BMW unlike the domestic car brands haven’t been doing as many markups especially after an order. These folks won’t screw you like a Ford dealer on a Bronco order. I ordered an M4C in 2021 and an M2 currently and in both scenarios both dealers said they don’t do that. Hendrick in Charlotte and Fields in Asheville, NC.
Have you tried calling around yet to find an allocation? In my area M3’s are back ordered for a few allocations meaning those will need to be filled or that customer to back out before you can order one. I actually went for M4 Comp because M3 would of likely taken an extra 6+ months at least, if not longer.
Varies dealer to dealer. My local one doesn’t charge a dime over MSRP on orders, but I know there are dealers elsewhere that probably do. If one does, just go elsewhere.
That said, when you order one thru a dealership, you should get a price sheet at the time you order with everything spelled out pricewise clear as crystal. Once signed, you’re locked in on the price.
I custom ordered my '23 M3 Comp Xdrive. I got it at sticker. Two out of three BMW dealers in my area offered at MSRP while one was asking from 5k over sticker. I put in a deposit at both dealers which offered at sticker and just went with the one that called first (make sure they’re refundable deposits). I waited about 3 months for the call.
