I’m I the only one that thinks the 991 series integrated wing just looks better than the 992 Motorsport style wing? I get it has better down force blah blah but it just looks kinda early 2000’s and don’t get me started on the RS wing.

Imho the GT3 and RS are supposed to be/feel/look like track cars…and the 992 definitely looks that way. When they’re next to each other the 992 just looks like it would destroy the 991.

From my experience, and i’m 100% not saying this applies to you OP, the harshest critics of the 992 are the people who bought used 991s and just straight up are not capable of affording a $275k car. And i predict in 5 years that a lot of people who “hate” the 992 now will buy one when it’s in their price range and start ragging on the newest one.

But i totally agree that the 991 wing looks a lot more integrated/approachable like it’s more of a weekend driver than meant to be raced.

To be honest, the dealer offered me an allocation but are asking over msrp, which I understand, it’s just pushing that price point get you close to McLaren’s and Italians. Those cars give the performance and looks. Unless it’s more about going to the track.

Id only be concerned, not looks as I would track it. I don’t care how “cool” it looks. I don’t daily my gt4, because I think a winged car on the road is stupid and pretentious. I would never buy a gt car as a street car, never mind as a daily. Fun drives, sure, canyon carving, etc cars and coffee. The gt4 sits in the garage waiting for its next track day. I can’t imagine a 991 beating a 992 on track, stock setup, same driver same conditions same tires. I want the 992 gt3, and if the rs wasn’t stupidly over priced I’d get one of them. Right now, I’m waiting for the market to soften, and I’ll run out and get the gt3.

I used to live in the valley long ago. Loved the mountain roads. Tujunga canyon, azusa highway. Etc. PCH is nice too. Sadly, no porsche at the time. But I did have a 1982 celica gt with 5spd manual.
