Owning an awesome 991.2 Carrera 4 for approx 5 months now. The best summer ever. Still enjoying autumn drives, it never gets boring. In Sport mode, in first few weeks I noticed quite high revs (compared to non-Sport), for instance on highway doing >65 mph in 5th gear but in 7th in non-Sport. So, from time to time I started using the PDK paddle shifters, to move up one or even two gears in highway conditions in Sport mode. Making the ride a little more comfortable less nervous. Over the past few weeks I started noticing a change in PDK behavior, where it seems the gear changes a little less aggressive, shifting up at lower revs, making it a more pleasant ride in Sport in highway conditions in general (while enjoying all Sport features and awesome PSE concert). Now my question is this fact or fiction? Does the PDK have the abilty to adopt driver preferences and amend its character?
The PDK in normal mode learns your driving style, the PDK in sport or sport plus modes are set programs.
You can ask your dealer to reset the PDK to factory if you want. When I sold Porsches you could tell the cars that people whomped on by how hard the PDK shifted in normal mode.
Is this true for all gens? I am picking up 997.2 C4 this weekend and yes normal mode seemed very lazy, so while they are prepping the car for Saturday, do you recommend they reset it or should i let it learn? Is it difficult or costly to reset PDK?
I’m not sure honestly. Just ask - if they can reset it I believe it is in the PWiS tester and takes like 30 seconds.
