I’ve cleaned and rechecked the oil a few times and it’s stayed at this level, could this cause issues?

The car has shown a lot of errors today, and now is running rough on idle, revs keep dropping. It’s showing errors: HDC not available system fault. Park brake fault. Stability control not available drive with care. AEB not available. Forward alert not available.

I also checked battery with the engine off and it was at 12.5V and with the engine on, at 14.5V.

I don’t know much else or if anything is related, any advice if this is drivable for now or if it needs looked at properly would be great, thank you!

    Please change your oil.
How many miles ago did you change it, looks very dark.

Your oil level and the error messages you’re experiencing are likely on my first thought not related. Is your dipstick showing too much oil? You might need to wait 5 minutes, clean the dipstick, and reinsert it and pull it back out to see the real level of the oil. Sometimes oil stays in the dipstick tube, making for an inaccurate read of the oil level. Waiting a few minutes let’s it go back into the crankcase. If I were you and I wasn’t very mechanically inclined and owned some kind of scanner, I would probably have it towed to a shop.

Thank you, it looks like the oil is way past the max, I’ll check again when I’m home, and yes I think I’ll just get it looked at properly! Thanks!

It’s an Evoque. Electrical problems will kill it long before an engine failure. In terms of advice about the codes, It could be a lot of things. JLR stuff is notorious for it. If you have a code reader you might be able to work through it, but it could be a bunch of things.

However, that oil looks manky, change it.
