Hi everyone, I have a 2011 mazda 3 and it has been having an issue with the transmission(Tcm likely the problem) recently. Today it got worse. I was driving down the highway at 100km/hr and my AT light came on like it has been, but this time it downshifted and locked up the front wheels. It happened 3x in 5 mins or so. I put the car into manual mode and it was fine for the rest of the drive home. I’m wondering how screwed it is at this point and if the TCM is the least of my problems.
what is the condition of the fluid? have you ever replaced the fluid? did you pull codes for the AT light? a lot of the times it could be one of the shift solenoids have gone bad and would need to be replaced. check the condition of the fluid as well as pull codes which will help get you in the right direction on what to do next.
Can’t pull the codes bc it’s just a quick flash on off. The fluid is pink and yes it’s been flushed a few years ago.
Buy a new car?
Would if I could afford to.
it should still store codes as a past event. how long in terms of mileage has it been since you changed fluids?
