just watch the second half of the Chelsea game which I wasnt able to do yesterday. we should have won that game. the Chelsea keeper clearing out Jesus was a real penalty and dangerous play. cucurella should have been carded in the first like 20 minutes which would have literally changed the course of the game in our favor. really gutted we couldn’t get one more goal.
this game makes me think even more that Arteta needs to rethink how the puzzle pieces fit together. he is clearly making probes here and there - Hazertz and Tomi played in a different way yesterday and even though we lose that Odegaard control game, we were very open on the right with a lot of space, and we moved the ball into the middle. we could easily have gotten another goal at that point.
I really hope we can reconfigure the team instead of trying to recreate last season’s style.
also I paid attention to Raya and he is really good in lots of little ways, a year from now no one will be talking about Ramsdale he will be off wherever he will go, but Raya is a good enough keeper to support a title run, I stand by it.

Watching live, emotion can really blind you to certain things.
I do think Havertz deserves a chance as the 9 against Sevilla this week. He hasn’t started up front since the Community Shield but has been our best player up there this season when coming on as a sub.
I also think Rice should be the 6, he went to another level entirely when he moved there yesterday.
I feel like Vieira should start as the LCM. He was great against Everton and poor against Spurs but I think he deserves a run of games instead of being dropped after not even a poor full game. Arteta took him off at half time against Spurs.
I see Havertz as being a good rotation option for Odegaard more than a 9, personally
He was way better than Odegaard there when he came on yesterday and also allowed us to go long as well.
He can do both roles imo.
He operated more as a 2nd ST playing off Nketiah so It was more of a 4-4-2 rather than Havertz playing as a RCM. Saka was actually the one doing Ødegaard-like things when he came off.

Agreed. But too many fans dont have the capacity to wait for things to formulate. We already have fans who want Ramsdale back in goal. We have fans fretting that we are not creating the quantity of chances we did last year, ignoring the fact we are showing more maturity out of possession. Arteta is clearly trying to evolve the team and there are a few teehting issues. However rather than ride out the transition, we have fans who shit it and want to ‘go back to what works’, which was last season where we played the best 11 week in week out with little variety, and fell short in the end.
If we are to win the league, we need to undertake this evolutionary process Arteta is implementing. Either that or we play good reliable football and finish 2nd or 3rd at best
Don’t think we showed any maturity out of possession last night. Whilst we did well in pressing them, Chelsea still had a few good counter attacking opportunities where they overloaded our wings and cut through the middle quite easily.
They had one The moment when Palmer dragged his shot just wide. That was the only golden chance Chelsea created that didnt involve Raya’a pass
