Striking works. It can be painful for all involved, but it is the only way to force bosses to the table.

    Solidarity forever.

I don’t think the strikers in hollywood were having any real difficulties.

This was all about greed and stifling innovation, anyways. Just like if blue collar workers strike against automation.

Lol. The luddites fought to end industrialization because they didn’t want technology to take their jobs. That’s not a better future for anyone except lazy people who don’t want to adapt.

              Sound familiar?

Ah, yes, the writers are trying to stifle the innovation of the execs. Because we all know writers aren’t critical for innovation or whatever.

I mean, have you seen what LLMs output? I think AI is really cool and has plenty of valid use cases, but it sure as hell isn’t innovative at script writing.

I mean, it depends on the kind of media you’re interested in.

If we’re talking about avengers shit, then yeah, all that could be done with AI. If it’s not good enough for you now, it will be soon.

Prolific writer Charlie Kaufman had some things to say on the matter. I agree with him pretty much 100%.

      Wish it went on longer.

All the stuff that got delayed was garbage, anyways.

Finally. I did not expect it to last this long, but I really hope that the deal is as good as described, so we can all get a move on things.

Remember, unions and strikes work, and you should always support them when you can.

I guess the executives found out that an LLM AI is not capable of replacing writers. This was always going to end this way, and I wish that the deal would involve all of those rich CEO bastards having to admit that they were wrong in public, in as many words.

Wonderful news. If only they’d tried to compromise right away and saved everyone the time and trouble.
