My opponent better hope they win before we get a Reverse and they’re stuck with my terrible play
Alt text description: Two people are playing chess along with a deck of Uno cards dictating play. Each turn a player draws a card. If the card has a number then that is the number of pieces they can move. Draw Two allows a player to return two captured pieces to the board. Skip causes a player to lose a turn. Reverse causes the players to turn the board around and switch to playing the other color. The actions for Wild or Wild Draw Four are not shown because the game ends in checkmate soon after a Reverse.
i cant imagine being upset by this result. its chaotic so just have fun
You say “Uck”
I’d have gone with “Cheuno”
NGL, I kinda wanna play Uno Chess now.
Just goes to show you, it’s all made up and some people get paid a really good living to play made up games. Not saying that’s bad, just jealous.
It’s a shame that people who play non-made up games never get paid for it :/
Yeah, in particular also seems random where they place the pieces after the
Draw 2. Well, except that the queen is now in position to put the king into check with the1.Obviously if you do this you real you need better rules for the draw cards. Either they resurrect on default positions or you make it a double draw turn and move twice. Both seem pretty op still in any case.
Yeah, default positions might work. Obviously, they could be occupied by other figures, too, but most figures have at least 2 potential starting positions, so it’s likely that at least one is free. Plus you could just say that a valid starting position has to be free, otherwise you can’t resurrect that figure.
And I think, the double-draw idea is a bit too OP. 😅
Even as demonstrated in the video, if you’re allowed to play just 4 consecutive moves, you could easily checkmate without your opponent able to do anything…
I kinda want to try to code a game based on this :3
I would recommend working out the rules before you start coding. 😅
For example, the Draw 2 brings pieces back in the video, but the spaces where they were before are occupied, so can’t just put them back. There’s probably lots of situations like that, which need to be resolved.
If I’m really generous, they seem to place the pieces into positions where they’re able to move to their previous field, but might also just be random where they place them.Well, and maybe also consider that Uno card designs are likely still subject to copyright, and the company behind Uno might be a right pain in the ass. 🫠
At least the last part should be easy to work around : just make drastically different-looking cards. Since it plays nowhere near actual Uno that should be enough
Doesn’t even have to be cards, since it doesn’t seem like the colors matter. Could just use a random number generator, or if you want fancy graphics spin a wheel or roll a die.
Draw a 4+ on your first turn and you insta-win before your opponent even gets a turn. Probably need to strip a lot of number cards out for balance.
The first four moves are called the Psych Ward Open.
