I’ll be That Guy and say that essentially every structural piece of aluminum in the world is an aluminum alloy. Pure aluminum is very soft and more difficult to manufacture into usable parts.

TBF, Al might actually be a reason not to buy it in the unlikely case a similar one made of Cu was also available, as this one would have a higher thermal conductivity (and also more style!).

Just shows how fucking stupid the blind zealotry is. AI has been around for a while and had some very good uses. All or nothing is a bad paradigm.

It would surely help if companies stopped slapping the AI label onto everything. I’ve seen washing machines and ovens claiming using AI these days. Being wary of this idiocy is perfectly reasonable.

Agree, but that said, if there was AI branding on any hardware I was about to purchase, I’d check and double check that it doesn’t send all my data to some cloud service.

As an old hat who actually know how LLMs work, it’s very tiering hearing these impossible claims made by corpo trash, and then seeing the “tech”-kids eating it up without question.

Doom uses so called ‘AI’. What everyone is really talking about is LLMs.

Things like deepl were previously called »machine learning« or »deep learning« and are now under the »AI« umbrella too. Doesn’t change that it’s useful and has been since long before the current AI trend.

The blind zealotry is just plain stupid.

The Canon 5D MK3 claimed AI Auto Focus way back in 2012, if i was inclined to search up more examples I’m sure i could find some from even before that. Thing is it sounds SciFi and Tech because it’s taken from SciFi Books.
